BarCamp Nashville is still fresh in the minds of those who attended the new media “unconference” on August 18, 2007.

Here is a five-minute highlight reel produced by <a href="http://www.studionow.com/"target="_blank">StudioNow. While five minutes doesn’t even cover what transpired over twelve hours, ask anyone who attended. Most likely, one will hear the passion from the various takeaways from the event. Whether you’re a Mac or PC guy, into Search Engine Marketing, great web design, programming, blogging or some form of interactive media, the consensus is that BarCamp Nashville was the stick that stirred the pool of talent in Nashville’s technology and media community.

We are breathing in deeply the afterglow from BarCamp Nashville from the superb presentations and the many new friends that we made. At CentreSource, we are proud to be a silver sponsor, but a big thank you goes out to the guys behind BarCamp Nashville: Dave Delaney, Marcus Whitney and Kelly Stewart. The entire BarCamp Nashville Crew worked diligently from morning to well past midnight to execute the vision of creating the greatest digital festival in the history of Nashville.

Just as Nehemiah mobilized a remnant of Israel to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, two guys – Dave and Marcus - met over coffee and had a commitment internally to assume a leadership role to put forth a goal that resulted in BarCamp Nashville.

Mitch Joel recorded a podcast with Dave and Marcus – <a href="http://www.twistimage.com/downloads/podcast/SPOS_65_-_BarCamp_Nashville.mp3"target="_blank">hear the conversation.

Thanks to all involved with BarCamp Nashville – we celebrate you.

The Exit/In has been a music fixture in Nashville dating back to the seventies. In the shadows of Vanderbilt University...

The Exit/In has been a music fixture in Nashville dating back to the seventies. In the shadows of Vanderbilt University behind the facade of black painted walls on Elliston Place – known as “The Rock Block” in the old days - lies The Exit/In where many talented acts have launched their careers while performing over the years. From comedian Steve Martin to Jimmy Buffett, John Prine and Linda Ronstadt, musicians of all genres have made late night memories over the storied thirty-six year history of the club.

On August 18, The Exit/In plays host to BarCamp Nashville. <a href="http://www.barcampnashville.com/blog/about/"target="_blank">What is a BarCamp? It is a tech unconference – meaning that when you register to attend (for free), there is an expectation to bring your experiences and involvement in the interactive, music, design and marketing communities to share information. In other words, YOU are key to participating with peers to raising the level of excellence and shaping the future in Nashville’s growing digital community.

CentreSource is proud to be a Silver Sponsor of BarCamp Nashville. Three of our team members will be sharing as speakers – Chris Wage on Demystifying Web 2.0, Jared Scheel on Exploring Apple’s iPhone Development using iTosser and Jonathan Wage discussing Enterprise PHP - Symfony and Doctrine ORM Frameworks.

If you’re too young to experience being a Jimmy Buffett Parrot Head from the early days at The Exit/In, then be a part of BarCamp Nashville! Whether you describe yourself as a Tech Head or Gear Head doesn’t matter; there’s no better place to take hold of the new future of new media, online marketing, digital technology, music and more. Why? Derive satisfaction knowing that by attending, you’re making an investment in Nashville’s digital community as a participant rather than a spectator.

Rock the Block - digitally - at The Exit/In and add to the history.
