Reminder: BarCamp Nashville 2010 this weekend!
We have some special surprises in store for BarCamp Nashville that you will not want to miss! On top of that, two of our team members will be giving presentations throughout the day that promise to be fun and entertaining.
Confessions of a Blackberry, iOS, Android User
Presenter: Nicholas Holland
Remember what your parents taught you? Never talk about Religion or Politics because it always leads to an argument. Well, add Mobile Phones to that list. The iPhone has become one of the most divisive products in the history of man & its fanatical culture (both love/hate) is spilling over into other mobile platforms.
Honky Tonk Tech: Interactive community welcomes BarCamp Nashville 2010
The end of summer signals the start of great times in Nashville. Aside from the start of football and hockey season, it also means that BarCamp Nashville is just around the corner. Entering its fourth year as a mainstay in the interactive community in the middle Tennessee area, this year's event returns Saturday, October 16 to Cadillac Ranch on Broadway.
The conference revolves around sessions created by some of the best and brightest in Nashville, covering topics ranging from how to build your brand using social media to how to implement the latest version of an API. Check out the list of sessions and you are bound to find something that piques your interest.

CentreSource is once again sponsoring the midstate’s leading tech-driven “unconference,” BarCamp Nashville. This free event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday, October 17 at the Cadillac Ranch on Broadway in downtown Nashville (map). At last glance, there were more than 60 presenters that had created sessions on topics on everything from Web development to entrepreneurship. We are also very proud that several of our team members will be presenting at this year's event:
- Nicholas Holland - From Cave Walls to Facebook Walls
- Chip Hayner - Choosing the Right Tool for the Job
BarCamp Nashville - the Highlight Reel
BarCamp Nashville is still fresh in the minds of those who attended the new media "unconference" on August 18, 2007.
Here is a five-minute highlight reel produced by StudioNow. While five minutes doesn’t even cover what transpired over twelve hours, ask anyone who attended. Most likely, one will hear the passion from the various takeaways from the event. Whether you’re a Mac or PC guy, into Search Engine Marketing, great web design, programming, blogging or some form of interactive media, the consensus is that BarCamp Nashville was the stick that stirred the pool of talent in Nashville’s technology and media community.
BarCamp Nashville: the Afterglow
We are breathing in deeply the afterglow from BarCamp Nashville from the superb presentations and the many new friends that we made. At CentreSource, we are proud to be a silver sponsor, but a big thank you goes out to the guys behind BarCamp Nashville: Dave Delaney, Marcus Whitney and Kelly Stewart. The entire BarCamp Nashville Crew worked diligently from morning to well past midnight to execute the vision of creating the greatest digital festival in the history of Nashville.
BarCamp Nashville: We are so there!
CentreSource is proud to be a Silver Sponsor of BarCamp Nashville.
There is still time to register for free here. Even if your Saturday is full, you're encouraged to carve out some time, and take in a session or two. Doors at the Exit/In open at 11:30, with sessions starting at noon to midnight.
There are also presentations taking place at Cafe Coco, and dinner later at Fiesta Azteca, all within walking distance on Elliston Place.
BarCamp Nashville: A Digital Festival
The Exit/In has been a music fixture in Nashville dating back to the seventies. In the shadows of Vanderbilt University behind the facade of black painted walls on Elliston Place – known as “The Rock Block” in the old days - lies The Exit/In where many talented acts have launched their careers while performing over the years. From comedian Steve Martin to Jimmy Buffett, John Prine and Linda Ronstadt, musicians of all genres have made late night memories over the storied thirty-six year history of the club.
