Apple - You're making me unhappy

For the first time in a long while, Apple has made me unhappy. After I just wrote a nice clip about how great the iPod Nano is, I journey to the Quicktime Section of the Apple site looking for any upgrades. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a place to ONLY download Quicktime. The download section asked me if I wanted to download iTunes and QuickTime in a bundled file. After looking in vain for a single QT download, I finally gave in and downloaded the combination.

Once the file downloaded, I thought, "Surely there is an 'advanced' option to not install iTunes. Alas, there wasn't... And to add insult to injury, they added in a useless screen in the install process to make sure I see the advertisement "Born to be together, iTunes and iPod".

I definitely understand their motive - iTunes is the driver to their iPod empire. They make their intentions perfectly clear by adding the advertisement in there. Unfortunately, I am less inclined to utilize Quicktime if I know I am going to always find myself downloading the bloated iTunes+Quicktime file.

While I like iTunes, I don't want to be forced to use it. That's the strategy that made me abandon RealPlayer - too many bundled applications required just to get a simple player.

Maybe you could get it by clicking the "QuickTime Standalone Installer" link on the right side, about 2/3 down from the top?
