The future of web applications?

I’ve recently encountered two sites that are really amazing to me in that they are much more functional than a normal website, yet they are so simple that even the most basic user can use them. The first is http://www.printsmadeeasy.com/ and I first used it when I wanted to create business cards for CentreSource. Its truly an incredible site and accomplishes its purpose really well…

The other site I find to be really neat is a Logo Generator by LogoYes. Its really amazing how comprehensive the site is, and how valuable it is to a company that has no idea what they want for a logo. It gives the option to ‘try before you buy’, and the flash interface makes it very easy to create your own logo. You can try it for yourself by going directly to http://www.logoyes.com/logocreator.php

These sites, in many ways, are pioneers to what I think will be the next generation of UI (user interface) on the web. Flash-type technologies will liberate designers from the bonds of HTML and really allow for great UI on web applications.
